Is Breed Ledger really free?

Yes. The free tier includes a site on a breedledger.co subdomain, 10 animal records, an inquiry form, and a listing in the Find a Breeder directory. No credit card required. No trial period.

What species does Breed Ledger support?

Breed Ledger is species-agnostic. Dogs, reptiles, cats, horses, poultry, livestock. The genetics engine and pedigree system adapt to any species. If you breed it, Breed Ledger supports it.

Can I use my own domain name?

Yes, on the Starter plan and above. You can connect any domain you own, and SSL is included automatically. Your breedledger.co subdomain stays active as a backup.

How is this different from a Wix or Squarespace site?

Generic website builders make you build breeder features from scratch. Breed Ledger gives you pedigree trees, litter announcements, a genetics engine, health record display, and buyer tools out of the box. You add your animals and pick a template. The breeder-specific features are already there.

What about selling puppies, kittens, or reptiles through my site?

E-commerce is coming to the Professional tier. When it launches, buyers will be able to place deposits and purchase directly through your site via Stripe. We will announce the launch to everyone on the waitlist.

Can I switch plans later?

Yes. Upgrade or downgrade anytime. Your animals, your site, and your data stay exactly where they are. If you downgrade to free, features beyond the free tier become read-only until you upgrade again.

The platform is designed for self-service. Pick a template, add your animals, customize your branding. If you get stuck, Starter and Professional plans include email and priority support. We are also building video walkthroughs and documentation.

Do you offer plans for breed clubs and registries?

Yes. Breed Ledger has three org plans designed for breed clubs, breed registries, and breed organizations. Plans start at $49/month for small clubs and scale to $199/month for established registries with unlimited members and animals. Every org gets a 14-day free trial on the Growth plan. How is org pricing different from individual breeder pricing?

Individual breeder plans are for managing your own breeding program: your animals, your site, your buyers. Org plans are for managing a breed organization: membership, animal registration, pedigree verification, events, and a branded portal for your club. Breeders who are also members of an org use their individual breeder account. The two systems connect.
