The reptile world's first breed club registry runs on Breed Ledger
The Gold Standard Gecko Club opened its registry in June 2026. Members register animals, pay dues, and enter events from one portal, and the club kept the website it already had.

The Gold Standard Gecko Club is a breed club for crested gecko keepers and breeders, co-founded by David Utrera of Tikis Geckos. The club set out to do something the reptile world had never had: a real registry, with studbook records, member accounts, and events, run to the standard that dog and cat registries have held for a century.
The club had the community. What it needed was the infrastructure.
The problem.
Running a registry by hand means forms in one tool, payments in another, records in a spreadsheet, and a volunteer board stitching it together over email. That model breaks the month a club grows, and GSGC was about to grow fast.
The club also had one hard constraint. It already had a website its members knew. Rebuilding from scratch was off the table.
The build.
Breed Ledger runs GSGC's registry underneath the club's existing site. Members follow a link from goldstandardgeckoclub.com into their portal at gsgc.breedledger.co, and everything operational lives there:
Studbook registrations, with payment inside the submission. Member accounts and dues that renew through Stripe Connect. Event listings and entries. Pedigrees tied to registered animals. A member perks system, starting with discounted FedEx shipping labels, so membership pays for itself.
Keepers who track their collections in ReptiDex get one more thing: their animal records sync into their GSGC member portal automatically. Track the animal once, and the registry stays current.
The first 30 days.
The registry did not sit quiet after it opened. Members signed up across every tier and logged animals in the studbook, and they put the tools to work: browsing the registry, entering events, joining the club, and paying dues. Those are not landing page bounces. Those are members working.
More than $1,000 in membership dues, registrations, and event fees moved through the club's own Stripe account in the first 30 days. Payouts land in GSGC's bank account on the schedule the club set. Breed Ledger routes the payments. The club keeps the money and the relationship.
Dusty has been beyond helpful in making my vision for my gecko registry come to life. He has been available at all moments and executed as we planned. We still have more work to go and honestly couldn't be happier with how it's going!

GSGC hosts conformation events at the National Reptile Breeders' Expo in Daytona in August 2026, with show entries running through the same portal. The registry that opened in June will be judging animals on the table by the end of the summer.
