Membership and dues

Members and dues that renew on time.

Applications, renewals and dues in one roster, with dues paid to your club’s own Stripe account.

Joining

How new members join your club.

An admin sets the joining rule in your club’s settings, and the join page on your club’s site follows it.

  • Open: anyone who signs up becomes a member straight away
  • By approval: people apply, and an admin decides who joins
  • Paid at sign-up: new members pay their dues through Stripe as they join, once your club’s Stripe account is connected
  • Closed: the join page says membership is closed and takes no applications

Applications

Applications the board can decide.

Prospective members apply from your site. Each application waits in one list until an admin approves or declines it.

  • One list for every application
  • Approve or decline
  • The membership they ask for comes with the application

Dues

Dues your treasurer can read.

Set dues and a billing cadence for each kind of membership. Members pay online, and the roster shows who is current.

  • Monthly, quarterly or yearly dues
  • Memberships assigned by rule or by hand
  • Dues paid through Stripe on a billing cadence renew on their own
  • Paid to your club’s own Stripe account

Renewals and status

Renewal dates and status, row by row.

When dues are paid online, the roster shows the date they are paid through next to each member’s status. Once that date passes, it reads as expired.

  • Filter the roster by status, such as active, pending or suspended, and search it by name or location
  • Select members to activate or suspend them together
  • Registrars can read the roster but cannot change it
  • Once dues are paid online, signed-in members see their membership and its paid-through date in their account settings

Good standing

Good standing, written down once.

Your board can record its standing policy in settings, so the next board reads the same rule. Breed Ledger does not yet apply it to any action.

  • Defined by your board, in settings
  • Each version of the policy kept

Perks

Member perks, kept with each membership.

Member benefits live with the memberships that receive them, so members see what they get and the board sees what it promised.

  • Perks attached to memberships
  • Published when setup is finished
  • A discount on event entries, by membership

Questions

Membership and dues questions.

Can members belong to more than one club?
Yes. A member can join more than one club, and each club keeps its own membership record for them.
Can we import our current roster?
Yes. I import your roster, and each member gets an invite to claim their account. See migration.
Do members need their own website?
No. Members take part through your club.
What is breed club membership software?
Software that keeps a club’s applications, roster and dues together.
Can members update their own details?
Yes. Members sign in to your club’s site and change their own details, so the secretary is not retyping them.
Does an applicant hear back?
When your club reviews applications, Breed Ledger emails the applicant when the application arrives and again when it is decided.
