Do I need to rebuild from scratch?

No. Paste your current site, a description of your program, or a CSV of your animals into the AI import and review a full draft in minutes. Prefer to take a weekend over it? Breed Ledger migrates your existing animal list, photos, and buyer waitlist, and most programs are fully live within a weekend. White-glove migration is on the house either way: send a site URL or an export file and Breed Ledger rebuilds it and hands you the keys.

What if my species is not listed?

Breed Ledger is species-agnostic. The platform ships with config for dogs, reptiles, cats, livestock, poultry, rabbits, horses, and exotics. If your species needs a custom genetics schema, the team builds it with you.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. Every paid plan includes a custom domain with automatic SSL. The free plan uses a kennel.breedledger.co subdomain until you bring a domain over.

Do you take a cut of my sales?

Using Breed Ledger for payments is optional. You can keep collecting deposits via Venmo, Zelle, or any other method you already use. If you do route payments through the platform, a small fee applies: 0.5% for breeders (min $0.50, no cap), 1% for org transactions (min $0.50, max $3.00). The upside: every transaction ties to the animal and buyer record. End-of-year taxes get easier. Stripe's standard 2.9% + $0.30 processing fee applies separately.

Can I run a breed club or registry on Breed Ledger?

Yes. The Club and Registry plans give you a white-label portal with unlimited member programs, events, and a full stud book. Everything runs under your club's domain and branding.

What happens to my data if I leave?

You own your data. Export every animal, pedigree, photo, and contact as CSV and ZIP any time. Breed Ledger keeps your data for 90 days after cancellation in case you come back.

Does Breed Ledger replace my registry?

No. Breed Ledger runs the registry. The registry stays the authority on the breed. Stud books, breed standards, and the board are all yours.
