Their tiers gate on the number of active listings and, on the lower tiers, a cap on the total dollar value you can list at once. What MorphMarket actually is
MorphMarket sells reach. You pay for the right to list animals in front of a large, reptile-specific buyer audience that is already searching there. The tiers step up by how many listings you can have live and, on the cheaper plans, how much total value those listings can represent before you have to move up a tier. Higher tiers add a seller directory entry and, at the top, remove the value cap entirely.
That model is a genuine strength for selling. If a buyer is hunting for a specific morph today, MorphMarket is very likely the first place they look, and being listed there is worth real money. What it is not is a system of record. Your animals, your pairings, your pedigrees, and your genetics do not live there in a way you own and carry forward. When a listing sells, it goes away.
Where MorphMarket wins
Be honest about this. MorphMarket has the audience. For pure sell-through on a specific animal, nothing else in reptiles has that concentration of active buyers, and being where the buyers already are is the whole game for a quick sale. The search and filtering by morph are excellent, built by people who understand reptile genetics. And the free and low tiers let a hobbyist list an animal or two a year for almost nothing.
If your program is small, your buyers all come through MorphMarket search, and you do not care about holding structured records or running your own site, MorphMarket alone may be all you need. I would rather you hear that from me than pay for tooling you will not use.
Where Breed Ledger wins
Breed Ledger keeps what MorphMarket lets go. Your animals, pairings, pedigrees, and genetics live in one system you own, and they do not vanish when an animal sells. From those records it builds a full public site on your own brand, so a buyer who finds you lands on your facility, not a listing that competes with fifty others on the same page.
Pricing does not punish growth. There is no per-listing fee and no value cap, so a breeder listing high-dollar animals is not pushed up a tier for the crime of having good stock.
