For livestock organizations
Registry Software for Livestock Associations
Livestock associations need records that respect species terminology and production context without turning every animal into a generic pet profile. Breed Ledger uses the organization and animal context to select the right labels and fields while keeping identity, pedigree, ownership, and registration history connected.

What a livestock registry replaces.
Herd and flock records, transfers, and directories share one record.
Herd-book spreadsheets
Animal identity, sex, breed, lineage, breeder, owner, and registry status remain structured and searchable.
Mailed transfer forms
Ownership history and applicable transfer workflows can stay connected to the registered animal.
Static member directories
Member and animal records can power current organization directories without a second data-entry process.
How a livestock registry runs.
One path from the association's species model to shared, current records.
Model
Configure the association species, vocabulary, fields, identifiers, statuses, and public visibility.
Import
Map existing herd or flock records and preserve the identifiers members already recognize.
Operate
Process new registrations, lineage, ownership, member status, and applicable fees.
Share
Use approved records for pedigrees, directories, verification, and member access.
Questions to ask a livestock registry vendor.
A livestock registry should keep its own vocabulary and identifiers through migration.
- Does the software use the correct species and association vocabulary?
- Can existing registration identifiers survive migration?
- Can fields differ by species without leaking one species defaults into another?
What the platform supports today
