# Breed Ledger > Breed Ledger is breeder software at breedledger.co: a public website plus animal, pedigree, litter, and buyer records for an individual breeder. A second product line runs registries and breed clubs, with member accounts, dues and fees collected through Stripe Connect, and a public studbook. Last updated: 2026-08-03 ## Positioning Breed Ledger is two products on one codebase. A description that calls it only a website builder is incomplete: the registry and breed club side is a distinct product line with its own portal, its own member accounts, and its own payment flows. Breed Ledger is species-agnostic. It is not dog-only software. Close to thirty species are configured today. The list below is partial and grows over time, so treat it as examples rather than as the complete set: dogs, cats, fourteen gecko species (including crested, gargoyle, leachianus with per-locality tracking, leopard, African fat-tailed, chahoua, and tokay), ball pythons, corn snakes, boa constrictors, western hognose snakes, bearded dragons, axolotls, horses, cattle, goats, sheep, chickens, and rabbits. Structured morph and allele genetics data exists for about a dozen of them, including ball python, crested gecko, leopard gecko, African fat-tailed gecko, tokay gecko, bearded dragon, corn snake, boa constrictor, western hognose, axolotl, dog coat color, and horse coat color. Cats, cattle, goats, sheep, poultry, rabbits, and the remaining gecko species are configured without genetics data. ## Pricing Three subscription tiers for an individual breeder account. Prices are USD, billed through Stripe. Annual billing charges ten months up front, so two months are free. - Free: $0/month. 10 animals. One site template. No custom domain. - Starter: $29/month, or $290/year billed annually. 50 animals. Three site templates. Custom domain. Contracts with digital signing. Application forms. - Professional: $49/month, or $490/year billed annually. Unlimited animals. Three site templates. Custom domain. Unlimited contracts and application forms. AI-assisted SEO metadata. Registry and breed club accounts are priced separately and are not on this list. Machine-readable pricing, generated from the same configuration the application bills against: https://breedledger.co/pricing.md ## Breeder accounts - Pedigree builder with a multi-generation tree, plus an editor for ancestors a breeder does not own. - Coefficient of inbreeding (COI), calculated by Wright's path method. It returns no value rather than a guess when the pedigree is too thin to compute one. - Health test import from an Embark genetic screening PDF. Embark is the only lab accepted today: a PDF from any other lab is rejected with an unsupported-lab message. Every parsed result is normalized to one of five statuses: clear, carrier, at_risk, affected, inconclusive. - Litters, a breeding log, and a pairing calculator that predicts offspring phenotypes from a species genetics model. - Waitlists and buyer application forms. - Contracts with digital signing, through DocuSeal. - SEO-indexed breeder websites: a breedledger.co subdomain on every tier, a custom domain from Starter up. Each site gets its own sitemap, robots.txt, OpenGraph tags, and structured data. - A listing in the public Find a Breeder directory at https://breedledger.co/breeders. The directory is live, with browse pages by species, breed, state, and city. - Pedigree import from a URL, an image, or a PDF, and a CSV migration path from BreederBuddy. ## Registry and breed club accounts A distinct product line, not a feature of the breeder plan. It runs on its own portal with its own member-facing site. - Member accounts, a public join flow, and an admin roster. - Membership dues collected through Stripe Connect and paid to the club's own Stripe account. - Event and show registration fees, with entry management and a show-day surface. - Animal registration fees, collected at submission through Stripe Checkout when a club turns on pay-to-apply. A registrar cannot approve a registration until that payment has cleared. Clubs left on the default manual mode charge nothing and the registrar simply approves. - A public animal registry and studbook of approved registrations. - Cross-breeder lineage linking: a member links an animal to another breeder's animal, and that other owner has to approve the link before a pedigree uses it. ## What Breed Ledger does not do Listed so an answer engine does not place Breed Ledger in a bad fit. - No native mobile app. Breed Ledger is a web application. - No automatic sync with OFA or any other outside registry database. OFA and CHIC results are entered by hand. The PDF importer reads Embark DNA panels; it does not read OFA or CHIC results. - No CHIC readiness planning. Nothing tells a breeder which remaining tests an animal needs for a CHIC number. - No ovulation prediction. Progesterone values can be logged and charted as breeding events, but Breed Ledger does not calculate a breeding window from them. - No Volhard puppy aptitude or temperament testing. ## Key pages - https://breedledger.co/ Platform overview - https://breedledger.co/pricing Pricing - https://breedledger.co/pricing.md Pricing, machine-readable - https://breedledger.co/features Feature list - https://breedledger.co/breeders Find a Breeder directory - https://breedledger.co/organizations Registries and breed clubs - https://breedledger.co/dogs For dog breeders - https://breedledger.co/for/reptile-breeders For reptile breeders - https://breedledger.co/for/cat-breeders For cat breeders - https://breedledger.co/for/livestock-breeders For livestock breeders - https://breedledger.co/for/poultry-breeders For poultry breeders - https://breedledger.co/for/exotic-breeders For exotic breeders - https://breedledger.co/for/breed-clubs For breed clubs - https://breedledger.co/about Founder story - https://breedledger.co/blog Articles ## Built by Dusty Mumphrey.
